St. Louis Actors’ Studio is proud to participate in the Performing Arts Series at the Missouri History Museum to present the classic Tony Award-winning play that tells the true story of 16th-century Chancellor of England Sir Thomas More. A religiously devout man of conscience, More objected to King Henry VIII’s break from the Catholic Church—a decision that led to his prosecution. This morality play ultimately examines More’s struggle to be “the king’s faithful servant, but God’s first.”

Reviews

while it is set in the 16th century, it's as new as tomorrow morning. I was mesmerized as I have not been for a long time.... it just zipped by for me

"Such a strong cast! How lovely it is to see talents mature. I’ve watched most of these players for many years—indeed I’ve worked with a lot of them. And here they all give of their very best"

Steve Callahan, KDHX

"Man For All Seasons" as all the ingredients: Drama, History, Lavish Costuming"

Judith Newmark, St. Louis Post Dispatch

This two-act historical drama fits beautifylly with the third year theme of "Love and Honor" as More embodies the loftier aspirations of the human spirit. Zoth has assembled a fine ensemble...led by Actors' Studio founder William Roth in the title role. Roth maintains a performance ...that is consistant and admirable in making this historic and hallowed figure accessible to audiences
